Adaptive Combatives

Adaptive Combat Philosophy

Welcome to my website, enjoy Your stay.

Adaptive Combatives (Here after referred to as ACP) is more of a philosophical approach to martial arts than an organized system, though there are certainly elements of organization within the philosophy. ACP is neither a traditional martial art nor a sport based martial art. The focus of the ACP approach is on the development of self awareness through the practice and cultivation of a variety of combative techniques.

Self awareness is a necessity upon entering the world of self defense. Many martial arts focus on progressive repetition, not a bad thing in itself, however this sort of training has the potential to breed martial artists who absent mindedly perform techniques without ever acquiring an inner awareness of them. The techniques do not belong to the instructor, the system, or the martial art, but to the individual practitioner. If one does not cultivate self awareness during training then the techniques will always remain something that is elusively beyond the perceptions of the practitioner. When one practices with self awareness, the techniques become manifest as products of the practitioner’s own vital energy. It is only in this way that true martial artists form. Further, the martial artist is then able to manifest this self awareness in all walks of life thus  he or she essentially never exit’s the training ground.
